Tell WV Lawmakers: Don't Waste My Tax Dollars on an Intermediate Court We Don't Need

The West Virginia Legislature wants to pass SB 275, which will expand the size of our judicial branch and cost West Virginia taxpayers millions every year.  Even worse?  We don't need it!

  • Appeals are in rapid decline.  Since 1999, appeals have declined more than 70 percent

  • Proponents claim its needed for civil cases, but those are declining too.  Since 2004, civil cases have declined nearly 75 percent, from 402 to 107

  • Small states like West Virginia don't have intermediate courts because our population size and case loads don't justify the cost to tax payers.  West Virginia is one of 10 states without an intermediate appellate court.
